Project Proposal....DONE!!!!

Ok....so yesterday ,approximately 24 hours ago, the troop and I went in front of the Gold Award to present our project proposal.  All of us looked absolutely amazing in our professional outfits and we came very prepared.  We were able to answer every question that came our way and did so in an orderly fashion.  It was absolutely amazing and was  definitely not as scary as we all thought it was going to be.  We will found out soon how we did and then we can begin work on our projects.  CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Ok FREAK OUT TIME!!!!!!!

Ok so its May 22nd, 2011 and my troop and I are presenting our Gold Award Project to the Committee on Wednesday.  However, being that we are teenagers, we all decided to procrastinate this fun little project until 3 days before hand.  It also doesn't help our cause when we are all juniors in high school who are working on three other projects at the same time.  So what has to happen now???? Well, each of us has to complete a huge amount of paperwork that has to be presented to the Gold Award Committee.  Also, we have to write letters for donations that have to be sent out to several businesses before we can begin work on our Gold Award.  As part of my project, I am going to create a notebook that will have  several sky charts and information about the astronomy of Camp Mary White.  I have also just emailed my project advisor, Jackie D.  Jackie is an Astronomer who is currently working at Sunspot Solar Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico.  She has agreed to be my project advisor and will help me to acquire star charts and other materials for my program on the astronomy of Camp Mary White.  I have also emailed Lash, a construction company owner, who has also agreed to help me with my other part of the project; obtaining furniture for Camp Mary White whether it be through donation or if I have to build the furniture myself.  Now that both of my project advisors have been contacted, it is now time for me to work on my project proposal as well as a letter to my astronomy teacher in order to obtain possibly 3 telescopes for CMW to be used for future generations.
